Most teachers have been told the answer to exhaustion is rest. So they rest all summer and walk back into that building in August feeling almost exactly the way they left in June. We are going to talk about why - and what is actually driving the cycle that rest alone cannot break.
Knowing what is wrong is not the same as changing it. On Night 2 we get into what an actual interruption looks like inside a real teaching life - not a life overhaul, not a personality change. One small shift that starts to move things.
This is the night everything connects. We are going to talk about why the teachers who make lasting change almost never do it in isolation - and what it looks like to be intentional about who is in your corner while you do the hardest work of your career.
This is for the teacher who loves what she does and is losing herself to it anyway.
The one who rested this summer and still does not feel ready to go back. The one who wants next year to be different but does not know where to start. The one who can feel herself disappearing into the role and wants to find her way back to the person she is outside that building - and make that person a priority for the first time in a long time.
If you have ever sat in your car after the bell and wondered how much longer you can keep doing this the way you have been doing it - this series is for you.
Kim Lester spent decades inside school buildings - in the classroom, then in leadership - watching teachers give everything they had to a system that rarely gave it back.
She loved that work. And she reached a point where she knew she could not push down the walls from inside them. So she stepped outside to do it instead.
Teaching Without Losing Yourself is the framework she built from everything she watched teachers carry. This series is her invitation to you.
A room built to hold teachers the way teachers hold everyone else.
Three evenings.
One hour a night.
Yours to keep.
